HERBERT stops the leak while the system runs at full pressure, temperature and production. A do-it-right-from-the-start philosophy, with safety and the environment as the priority.
The process
A compound compatible with the fluid and temperature is injected to mould a homogeneous secondary joint that seals the leak path. The procedure is carefully controlled to minimise loads on the fasteners and the chance of sealant entering the line.

Live repair is temporary: at the next shutdown the device is removed and the system's original integrity is restored (API 570). Work is carried out with a minimum of two trained technicians.
